Living Objects, Practical Systems
Connor McAllister is a designer, maker, and artist based in Philadelphia.
With a background in product design and design engineering, his work moves between concept, prototyping, fabrication, and use. He is interested in how things function after they leave the sketch or screen: how they are built, maintained, adapted, and lived with over time.
Alongside his work in furniture and objects, his recent work in horticulture and biophilic design has extended that attention toward interior spaces as living systems that continue changing after they are “finished.”
He is drawn to adaptable design that is useful but not sterile, grounded in care, and perhaps a little strange.
