Fake trees = plants happy
Moss poles are essentially fake tree bark for indoor plants that would normally “like” to climb something.
They are a small lie told in a language the plant understands: vertical surface, texture, moisture, and “somewhere to climb.” They support the plant’s natural growth patterns by recreating part of the conditions it evolved around, turning a potted houseplant into something more architectural and less stranded in scale.
Leaf Maturation
As the plant senses it is growing vertically, it responds as though it is getting taller, and begins to develop more mature leaves. These larger leaves are produced by a plant behaving as though it is about 5 meters off the ground.
This enhances the visual impact of the plants as they develop new shapes, while making their active participation in the surrounding environment more visible.
Moisture + Maintenance
The poles incorporate a mix of sphagnum moss, coconut chips, and coir, as well as small bits of hydrogel to help with moisture retention. The poles are made using clean-looking chicken wire and reused plastic sheeting to close off the back.
